Bone Spirits Products Arrive!

We are happy to announce the arrival of Bone Spirits Distillery products to our bar!  We will be carrying:  Moody June Gin and Smiths Vodka.

“We were excited about bringing on these products to our bar for a couple of reasons; first they are quality products that will be great to have at our bar, and second they are products hand-crafted in the town I grew up in.  I had many fond memories during my teenage life and it makes us happy to add this product that is from my home area of Texas,” comments Chef David.

We hope that you will enjoy these products as much as we do.  John and Allison will be working on some signature features to introduce both of these spirits over the next couple of weeks.  First, we will be introducing Mood June Gin and then we will add Smiths Vodka.

Relay for Life 2015

Come and join our team at Relay for Life 2015.  Our team will be out in force from 6PM through 6AM.  We will be joined by our family and friends.  We look forward to an evening of support and awareness.

A note from Lisa Burdick:

Many of us have been touched by the “C” word in one way or the other.  One word which is so terrifying, so unpredictable, so destructive, but yet so eye opening that changes someones’ life the moment it comes out of the doctors mouth, CANCER.  A friend, a neighbor, a mom or dad, or a distant relative who you might have never met, might have experienced a battle so heartbreaking that you sometimes ask yourself  “What if it was me”?

It touched our family in 2006, when my husband David went in for a routine doctor’s visit and received the shocking news of… “It might be Cancer”, and so it was.   Time went into fast gear, from emergency surgery to ICU to oncologist visits every three months.. Every bit of our normalcy in that moment had changed.

However, as it came into our lives, it also changed the course of our lives.  The blessing of realizing, “LIVE LIFE WITH NO REGRETS,  making a dream that had been talked about for years became a reality with God’s Grace.   TWELVE STONES and CHEF David came to be.

Twelve Stones and our family,  have taken the challenge to raise awareness and funds for the local Relay for Life Event,  benefiting The American Cancer Society, that will take place on :  Friday, May 15 6pm – May 16  6am at the Lewisville High School 9th Grade Campus (1250 W. Round Grove Road), Flower Mound, Texas.

You too will know of someone else’s life who has been interrupted by some form of Cancer. Their strength, courage and fight is one to be recognized, celebrated and remembered.

SO TODAY, I’D LIKE TO INVITE YOU to come support us by walking with our Team- “TWELVE STONES”- Leave No Stone Unturned for the Fight!

What is the RELAY FOR LIFE?

RELAY FOR LIFE is a family-friendly, fundraising walk that takes place the entire night into the next morning.  Relay teams walk around a track or path at a local high school, park or fair ground in their community to celebrate survivors, remember those who lost their battle, and to inspire others to fight back by raising money to help find a cure.   Because this is a team event, this allows individual participants to come and go as they please, as they are able to sign up for a time to walk that works best for them and their family. Each team, must have a team member on the track at all times from start to finish–as this symbolizes the meaning of Cancer Never Sleeps.

Although this is a fundraising event and any amount of donation is greatly appreciated.  Our main goal is Awareness— TO SPREAD THE WORD AND TO GET ENTIRE FAMILIES WHO KNOW FAMILIES that have been affected by Cancer to show their love and support on the track with many others in solidarity for the common goal of finding a cure.

Once I have been notified that you have joined “Twelve Stones” team,  We will fill you in on additional event details.   If you have any questions or problems signing up, please contact me. I will be more than happy to sign you up or answer any questions you might have.

Come help us make a difference. SO one day, our school track can be filled with support and love from “our friends, our neighbors, our community”

“I personally do this event in memory of our family friend, Marco and his family,” says Chef David.  David’s family friend Marco Stoutjesdijk, was a young man that truly loved life and enjoyed every moment that he had, Unfortunately, that life was cut short due to his battle with NF.

In loving memory of...

In loving memory of Marco Stoutjesdijk

David remembers, “while it (NF) attacked him physically, he never lost his spirit. I loved him for this.  Marco was a very big inspiration when I was young.  Marco taught me how important it is to never give up and to enjoy every moment that we are given.  I was blessed to have known him.  It is truly and honor to be a part of this event.”

It’s not too late to purchase tickets!  Please, join us and lets work together to find a cure!

Wine Dinner – April 1, 2015

I just want to take a moment and talk about our first wine dinner that we will be hosting at Twelve Stones Restaurant.  We are very excited to offer a five-course wine pairing dinner at $100 per guest.  Our dinner will  feature our interpretations of a cuisine that was very influential to my early culinary interests.

Twelve Stones Wine Dinner March 2015

When I was fifteen, I had the fantastic opportunity to spend two weeks in southern France.  This visit came as the conclusion of my working summer in the Netherlands.  During my time with our family friends, I had the fortunate opportunity to experience my first multi-course French meal.   The family I was visiting hosted a meal cooked by a local chef.  What I can remember, the meal was nothing short of amazing.  For the first time, I had spent close to three hours enjoying fresh seafood, local beef, foul, and other various items from the region.

This meal helped me realize how much I loved food.  It was a turning point in my life.  I was amazed at the beauty and passion of the food that was presented to us throughout this masterpiece of a meal.  While I did not appreciate it as much at the time, I also was allowed to taste various wines that were served throughout the evening.  I have never forgotten this evening and the passion that our host chef displayed as he presented his creations.

With this said, I wanted to make our first wine dinner one that highlighted foods from the region of the world that first inspired me.  I hope that you will join us as we take a small journey with some wonderfully French-inspired dishes paired with some wines from various regions.

We are very excited about this dinner that we will be hosting.  Look forward to our inaugural wine dinner coming in March!  Please, give us a call and reserve your seat today.  The dinner will be limited to the first 30 guests.

Congratulations Team

Our staff is constantly trying to be their best and to ensure that our guests are taken care of.  I am so proud of each of you and thank you for your continued dedication.  We appreciate the fantastic feedback that we have received.  Than you for all the great feedback about Twelve Stones Restaurant.
